Dominant weekend see’s VRD clinch it’s maiden teams championship title.

September 29, 2021 - Atlanta, GeorgiaA 1-2 finish in race 1 set the stage to clinch the title. Close battles weekend long which saw Alder lead in all 3 races while Christodoulou led in 2 of them.

Alder bookended the weekend with a win in race 1, after tense wheel to wheel action with teammate Christodoulou. Alongside a win in race 3 from 4th in the grid.

Christodoulou qualified 2nd and brought home a pair of second places followed by a DNF in race 3 after starting out of positing back in p14.

Debutant Evans struggled to get up to pace with the competitive field initially but did a sensational job finishing p5 in race 3 from 13th on the grid. Meanwhile Bowlsbey had a weekend to forget in the 03 machine.

“Winning the teams championship was top of my priorities for this season and to get it nailed down so early against some stiff competition I couldn’t be more proud of what this team continues to achieve. My thanks goes to all the staff, drivers and sponsors for all their hard work and commitment to vrd. But the season is not over. Now this monkey is off our back it’s time to gear the boys up for a big run at the drivers championship at COTA.” Said team boss Daniel Mitchell.

‘It has been as incredible weekend. I really can not thank the team enough for all the hard work throughout the season. There have been plenty of highs and lows, but this high will sustain for awhile. I’ve wanted to get this team championship almost as much as I have wanted to win the drivers championship. Nico and I raced with the team in mind all season, and now it shows. That being said, my only focus now is winning the drivers championship in CoTA, and I am hungry for it’ said Alder who now sits 3rd in the championship standings.

‘Super proud of the team and how amazing the cars were for us to drive and clinch the team championship. Now it is full focus towards the drivers championship where we can win at Cota. Let’s go’ said Nico Christodoulou.
